Guard New Taipei City Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf: Volunteers’Enthusiastic Service

Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf has been renowned for its “Tamsui sunset” since the ancient times. After developing for many years, the port has successively completed floating piers, Lover’s Bridge, boardwalk, and other infrastructure and tourist facilities. Over a long period of time, numerous tourists have been attracted to the wharf which is considered an important tourist attraction in northern Taiwan. To help enhance the travel quality at the wharf, “the Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf volunteer team” has actively cooperated with the New Taipei City government to hold related events such as tours at Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf, In Love with Hobe (known as Tamsui today) Fishing Village, and marketing for fishery in the city, making great contributions for tourism to the port since it was founded!

Agriculture Department, New Taipei City Government indicated that the Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf volunteer team was established in 2001, and its chief tasks are to provide travel information for tourists on holidays and patrol the port. The team currently has 30 members who are mostly retired local senior personnel having joined the team since it was first founded. The team has strong coherence, and they have deep feelings for Tamsui. In addition to making contributions, they also invite their families to participate in the volunteer work. Their service spirit is truly appreciated.

Agriculture Department further stated that the Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf volunteers wear team vests and identification cards when they are on duty on holidays. If you need to consult travel information, reserve a group tour at the port, borrow a wheelchair and a scooter for visiting Lover’s Bridge or require other assistance during 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on holidays, you may contact the duty counter of Fisheries and Fishing Port Affairs Management Office (1F, No. 199, Guanhai Road, Tamsui District; Tel: 02-2805-8476), and the volunteer team will enthusiastically serve you so as to strengthen the sightseeing quality at the port.
