Gongliao abalones get fatter and tastier as it gets colder. New Taipei City Gongliao abalones (Holiotis sieboldii and H. discus Reeve) are in season. The New Taipei City Gongliao Abalone Sales and Exhibition Event of “Luxurious and Delicious Abalone Dishes Served” was grandly held on the first floor of Gongliao District Fishermen’s Association today (December 9th). A large crowd of people rushed to purchase limited fresh abalone lucky bags. In addition to checking out the specialties of local restaurants made with Gongliao abalones at the venue, visitors could see stylish chefs demonstrate how to cook the abalones, buy local seafood, enjoy creative DIY activities and fun games on fishery products, and try free samples of pan-fried Gongliao abalones and silverfish at the venue. People kept saying that it was definitely worth it!
