Tamsui No. 1 Fishing Port is on the bank of Tamsui River, which is located on the outer side of Zhongzheng Road in Tamsui District of New Taipei City. It has a berth of 0.56 hectares (water depth -2.0m) and a wharf of 133m, which can be used to berth 50 small-sized vessels. However, as mud and sand gradually silt up, its riverbed became shallow and only sampans can access during the tides. Vessels of Tamsui No. 1 Fishing Port are mostly engaged in inshore fisheries including pole and lines boots and long line.

Most of the vessels travel within a day and work 5 nautical miles away from the coast. Their catches are mostly mullets and eel larvae, crabs, larval fishes and Spanish mackerels.
