With a berth of 13,690 m2, Bitou Fishing Port is located inside the western bay of Bitou Cap in Ruifang District of New Taipei City. As the port has its mouth opened to the northwest, it is difficult to berth fishing vessels when there are big waves and wind.

It is the reason that the Second-Stage Fishing Port Construction Project was carried out, where a detached breakwater was installed 150m away from the port. With an obvious improvement, this project not only helps to stabilize the berth conditions with less waves and current flowing into the port, but also to increase the berth surface.

Sampans of the Bitou Fishing Port are mostly engaged in catching Bigfin reef squids along the coast that they travel forth and back within one day, whereas other fishing vessels are engaged in stick-held dip net fishery or sea fishing activities in oceans around Pengjia Islet and Huaping Islet. Each course of travel takes around 15 days, which is about 500 nautical miles.

The catches in Bitou are mostly neritic squid, yellow seabream, red big eye, silverfish, Swordtip squid, Bigfin reef squid and so on. There is no fish market here and the catches are sold to nearby seafood restaurants. There are no direct sales around the port.
