Vessels of Dongao Fishing Port mainly work on the eastern side of Yeliu Peninsula and along the coast. Therefore, they usually leave late, return early and have their mission completed within a day. However, those who conduct fishing work around Pengjia Islet need to take about 5 days to travel forth and back.
They are mainly engaged in long line, pole and lines boots, and stick-held dip net fisheries and their catches are mostly skipjack tuna, anchovy, neritic squid and crabs.
